Trudi Huizenga

 

Trudi Huizenga earned a B.A. from Calvin College, an M.A. in musicology from the Ohio State University and both an M.M. in Voice and a Ph.D. in Voice, Music Theory, and Music History from Michigan State University.  She studied with Gene Greenwell, Leona S. Witter and Janet Alcorn.  After teaching music grades K-9 at Mayfield Christian School for three years, she joined the Faculty of Calvin College from which she retired as Professor Emerita.   She gave frequent recitals, appeared with the Calvin College Orchestra and Calvin Oratorio Society.  She was also a frequent soloist  in area churches.   She gives private lessons and  sings in the choir at Grace Episcopal Church in East Grand Rapids, Michigan.
