Chelsea Durrah

 

Chelsea Durrah, a voice teacher and choral director in the Upstate of South Carolina, believes that the inherent vulnerability of singing often leads individuals to develop unsustainable habits that can negatively impact their vocal health. Her mission is to guide students toward vocal freedom by helping them to discover ease and efficiency in singing.

After earning her Bachelor of Music in Choral Music Education from Converse University, Chelsea began her current role as the choral director at Carver Middle School and Mary H. Wright Elementary School where she guides young singers in their pursuit of sustainable singing practices and functional music theory.

Driven by a desire to help more singers experience vocal freedom, Chelsea founded Durrah Studios in January of 2023. Here, she teaches healthy, sustainable vocal technique across a variety of genres, including classical, folk, contemporary worship music, and musical theater. In addition to her teaching, she is continuing her study of the voice as a Certified McClosky Voice Technician. Whether a student is building foundational technique or pursuing advanced vocal goals, Chelsea is passionate about helping each singer take the next step with confidence and freedom.
