"In 2018 I attended a McClosky Institute of Voice summer seminar at Furman University. I learned enough at that seminar to create a desire to know more for myself, as well as how to teach this technique to others. Before my retirement, I taught music in the public school system for 25 years. Currently, I am the cantor/ music leader for a local church and I am a vocal coach. The opportunity to become certified as a McClosky technician has improved my effectiveness as a singer, teacher, and vocal coach.
"I mentioned that I was retired, but it's hard to stay retired! In August, 2024, I returned to the classroom to teach music to grades K,1, & 2. What I have learned and am still learning through the McClosky technique has been revelational for me as a singer, and I know my students, young and old, will benefit from the healthy vocal habits I have learned as a CMVT. My philosophy is you’re never too old to learn something new or to improve on what you already know. I am thrilled to be sharing the McClosky technique with others!"
