Katrina Saga

 

Katrina Marie Tiongson Saga is a Soprano from Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental. She went on to pursue her Bachelor’s Degree in Music as a Voice Major in Silliman University’s College of Performing and Visual Arts. Her performance platform included solo recitals, and concerts with world renowned artists such as New York-based violinist Michael Emery, cellist Ann Alton, Pianist Cristine Coyiuto, child prodigy violinist KC Uchi Galano, and mezzo-soprano Clarissa Ocampo.

She is an alumna of the Philippine Madrigal Singers,Two-time European Gran Prix winner and UNESCO Artists for Peace and Grand Prix Winner of the 2016 LXIV International Choral Competition Polifonico Guidod’Arezzo. Ever since she joined the group in 2013, she became part of several world tours including Parts of Asia, Africa, Europe and the United States. She finished her Graduate Studies in Voice at the University of the Philippines College of Music and has done a solo recital with chamber music, has participated in Jerry Dadap's Andres Bonifacio “Ang dakilang anak pawis,” Handel’s Messiah, and Mendelssohn’s Elijah, to name a few. She recently performed her Graduation recital with the title role in Douglas Moore's "The Ballad of Baby Doe" last May 2016.

Katrina is also a lecturer at the Philippine Madrigal Singers Music Studios, Philippine Opera Company and participates in several workshops conducted by the group in the Philippines and abroad, as well as performing lecture recitals and concerts.
