Jana Harwell

 

Jana Harwell is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington. She received a bachelor of Music with an emphasis in accompanying, vocal pedagogy/performance and a state teaching certification.  She also received a Master of Arts in Vocal Pedagogy from Texas Woman’s University.

Jana has taught private voice and piano for over twenty years and is currently the choral director and vocal coordinator at Cross City Church.  Jana is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and the Texas Music Educators Association. She sings with the Arlington Master Chorale, and also had the opportunity to accompany for events such as Texas Choral Directors Association, Carnegie Hall in NYC, the Meyerson Symphony Hall in Dallas and the National ACDA Convention in Dallas.

Jana continues to sing and accompany professionally for different events. She is married to Dale Harwell and they have two children, Andrew and Haley. Jana also enjoys art, decorating, cooking, and exercising at her local fitness center.

Jana became a CMVT in the summer of 2011 and she and her students have greatly benefitted from the McClosky techniques. She continues to speak publicly and to conduct seminars to demonstrate the McClosky techniques to her colleagues.
