Julie graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN with a Bachelors degree in Church Music in 2004, after which she spent a year working for a pipe organ builder. During the summer of 2005, Julie moved to Massachusetts where she spent 5 years teaching private lessons and running various church music programs which involved directing adult and children’s vocal choirs, adult and children’s bell choirs, and leading congregational singing. During this time she sought answers to her own tension issues affecting her singing voice which is how she became acquainted with the McClosky Technique.
Julie moved to Lansing, Michigan in August of 2010 where she currently works as a massage therapist, personal trainer, and music teacher for the YMCA. She has taught private lessons for over 10 years to piano, voice, organ, and brass students who varied in age from 6 to 72.
