Gail Gingery


Dr. Gail Gingery received a BA in Voice with a minor in Italian from Bob Jones University in 1951. In 1953 he completed the MA in voice from BJU. In 1965 he received his D.M.A in Voice Performance from Boston University where he studied with David Blair McClosky. Dr. Gingery became Chairman of the Division of Music at BJU in 1956, a position he held until 1981. He also served as Head of the Voice Department from 1956 to 1998.


Dr. Gingery helped to establish Faith Free Presbyterian Church in Greenville in the 1970’s and has been the Minister of Music and an Elder from its founding.  He no longer serves as Minister of Music, but is an Elder for life.


In 2000 at Bob Jones University, an endowment fund was established in his name to assist the Voice Department in the development of a vocal arts lecture series, master classes and the hosting of guest vocal clinicians and visiting vocal pedagogues.

Dr. Gingery is now retired, but still maintains a small home studio for those interested in taking advantage of his expertise and years of experience.
