Denise Burton
Denise Burton holds a Master of Music in Performance from Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music from the State University of New York at Purchase College. Denise has performed both as a soloist and in ensembles in New York City and in Europe. Denise was a special guest artist for the Harlem Fine Arts Show (HFAS) in New York City; performed at Carnegie Hall with The New York Lyric Opera Theatre, for their annual opera showcase; performed in many productions with The Village Light Opera Group, and has performed in past productions and continues to perform, with Amore Opera Company. Denise has also performed in Europe with the International Institute of Vocal Arts, performing many scenes from various operas. Denise is a member of the Professional Women’s Singing Association (PWSA) and The Metropolitan Opera Guild.
Throughout the years, Denise has spent her time taking voice science, speech and vocal pedagogy courses and has even worked as an administrator at ENT and Allergy Associates, under Voice Specialists such as Dr. Jonathan Aviv. Denise was determined to further her studies to learn more about voice science and vocal hygiene, due to vocal health issues she has experienced herself. Denise sought and attended McClosky seminars and was amazed at how much she has learned about the McClosky Technique, and how it has shaped her as a singer. Denise teaches privately in New York City and believes in proper vocal health care, and preservation and is inspired to help those who have experienced vocal issues themselves. The McClosky Technique has helped refine her teaching. Denise is ecstatic to be a part of McClosky Institute of Voice, and to be a Certified McClosky Voice Technician!
