| HOME --> CMVT -->PENNY SANDSTROM Penny Sandstrom completed a BFA in Theater Arts at the University of Minnesota and moved to Seattle to be part of the Professional Actors’ Training Program at the University of Washington. She studied at the London Shakespeare Studio in order to discover the secrets of performing Shakespeare.. To them, Shakespeare’s scripts are scores, and all you have to do is, in the words of her favorite teacher, “learn the notes”. This seemed so simple and obvious, but it took a lot of searching to discover. Penny has performed numerous roles, notably Martha Jefferson in “1776” at the Cooperstown Theater Festival and Mildred in Eugene O’Neill’s “The Hairy Ape” at the Pittsburgh Public Theater. Like so many, she came to the McClosky Technique by the need to find a way to use her voice in a more natural and organic way. It is very exciting to now have the tools and techniques to help others find or regain their true voices. |
